STUMPS – Terms of Service

1. About STUMPS

STUMPS is an online platform that facilitates bookings between cricket coaches and players. STUMPS does not provide coaching services itself and is not a party to the coaching sessions booked through the platform.

2. Coaches

• All coaches listed on STUMPS are required to hold a valid ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) coaching qualification.
• Coaches operate as independent contractors and are not employees, agents, or representatives of STUMPS.
• Each coach is solely responsible for:
  • Their coaching sessions
  • Session content and delivery
  • Health, safety, and safeguarding compliance
  • Insurance coverage appropriate to their coaching activities
• STUMPS does not supervise, control, or guarantee the quality of coaching sessions.

3. Bookings & Payments

• All bookings are made through the STUMPS platform.
• Payments are processed securely via Stripe and charged at checkout.
• Coaches control their own availability, session pricing, and notice periods.
• Bookings within a coach’s minimum notice (buffer) period are automatically blocked.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the session start time are eligible for a refund.
• Cancellations within 24 hours of the session start are non-refundable.
• For eligible refunds:
  • A 10% admin fee is deducted to cover platform and payment processing costs.
  • The remaining amount is refunded to the original payment method.
• No refunds are issued for no-shows or completed sessions.
• Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on the payment provider.

5. Earnings & Platform Fees

• Coach earnings are released only after the session has taken place.
• Payouts are triggered automatically after the session date plus a 2-hour buffer.
• Platform fees are deducted where applicable.
• One coach on the platform (a co-founder) is exempt from platform fees and retains 100% of session earnings.

6. Players, Minors & Parental Responsibility

• Bookings for minors must be made by a parent or legal guardian.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring suitability of sessions for minors.
• STUMPS is not responsible for supervision outside of the booked session itself.

7. Assumption of Risk

Cricket coaching involves physical activity and carries inherent risks. By booking or attending a session, you acknowledge and accept these risks. STUMPS is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from coaching sessions.

8. User Conduct

• Users must provide accurate information.
• Abusive, fraudulent, or inappropriate behaviour may result in suspension or termination.
• We reserve the right to cancel bookings or remove users who breach these terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

STUMPS acts solely as a booking and payment intermediary. We are not liable for disputes, injuries, or outcomes arising from coaching sessions. Liability, where permitted by law, is limited to the fees paid to STUMPS for the relevant booking.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
